Product Review: Perfect Image Solutions - Hair Regrowth Shampoo w/ Ketoconazole

For the past month (July 2011 - August 2011) I have used Perfect Image Solutions' Hair Regrowth Shampoo. It's very good and is among my 3 current recommendations if you are looking for a shampoo to prevent androgen-related hair loss.The shampoos Regenpure and Revita all contain similar ingredients - so similar results can be expected.

It's unfair if I recommend any one of the three, they are all so similar. I like how Revita smells, Regenepure has the best reviews on Amazon.com and Perfect Image's seems to give the best temporary volume to my hair.

If I had to pick one, I'd say go with this one. 6oz. for $19.99, while Revita is 6oz for $24.

It contains ketoconazole which is clinically proven to help eliminate scalp DHT which causes androgenic alopecia. Studies in the 1998 Journal of "Dermatology" and the 2005 "Journal of Dermatology" details these findings. It also contains Salicylic Acid which supposedly helps the ketoconazole and minoxidil absorb better.

One thing that I really like about this shampoo is the unlike other "anti-hair loss" shampoos (especially Nizoral), this shampoo does not leave your hair feeling flat and volume-less. I usually use a shampoo called "Nioxin" when I'm going out and would like extra volume for my hair. That was unnecessary while using this shampoo. So given that factor and that its as good as the other ketoconazole shampoos - I recommend this shampoo without hesitation.
